Old Fashioned, Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

These are my favorite cookies and so hard to resist! I ate three while filming!

********************

Needed to make

*1/2 cup of shortening (softened) *1/2 cup of butter (softened) *2 eggs *1 teaspoon vanilla extract *1/2 cup of sugar *1 cup of packed brown sugar *1/2 teaspoon baking soda *2 1/2 cups of flour *1 - 12oz. package or 2 cups of milk chocolate chips

*1 1/2 cups chopped walnut (optional)

Step 1: In a medium size bowl, mix all dry ingredients. Whisk til well mixed. Step 2:In a large bowl, mix all wet ingredients with a mixer until well mixed. Step 3: Adding 1/3 of the dry mixture to the wet mixture at a time, beat with mixer until everything is well mixed. Step 4: Add the chocolate chips and mix well with a spatula, until well blended. Step 5: Using a large spoon or an ice cream scoop, place mixture on a parchment lined cookie sheet, about 1 to 2 inches apart. Step 6: Bake each sheet at 375 for about 8 minutes. Step 7: Remove from oven and allow to cool for about 5 minutes. Now you can remove them and store in your cookie jar.

This makes about 60 cookies.
