Vase of Roses Cake

This cake is a vase and the roses are made from fondant. This cake is great for many important days and is a great way to say you cake.

Needed to make:

*vanilla buttercream, red

*green, white, pink fondant

*6 - 6inch square cakes

*BBQ skewers

Step 1: Create a template of the shape you want. I used parchment paper and a food safe marker to trace the shape of a vase from a picture online.

Step 2: Stack and ice cake layers. Do not coat in buttercream yet. Using 4 skewers, cut to size and insert into middle of cake for stability. Cool in freezer for at least 15 minutes.

Step 3: Work on making roses with one of the methods in the video. Set each aside to stiffen.

Step 4: Using template, crave cake down to the same shape. Go slowly and take off small amounts at a time. You can always take more, but you can't put it back.

Step 5: Give your cake a crumb coat and place back in freezer for at least 15 minutes.

Step 6: Now start making your leaves. Placing each to the side to stiffen.

Step 7: Take cake and cover with buttercream, getting it as smooth as you can.

Step 8: Using fondant, cover BBQ skewers to make flower stems. Cutting to the length you need. Take the pointed end of skewer and gently slide into roses.

Step 9: Now add you roses to your vase. Using a food safe paintbrush and a glass of water, attach leaves to roses and cake.

Step 10: Create a bow to decorate your cake. Now serve, making sure to let everyone know about the skewers!
