Monster Surprise Cupcakes
These are great Halloween cupcakes for all ages, choose your favorite or make some of each!
Needed to make
* 1 batch of white or vanilla cupcakes
* red food coloring
* blue food coloring
* 1 cup of corn syrup (split)
* 1 teaspoon cornstarch (split)
* green food coloring
* a selection of sugar cookies, candy eyeballs, and bones
* 1 batch of vanilla buttercream
Optional : Piping bags and different tips, cupcake corer, knife or melon baller.

Fake Blood and Slime:
Step 1: Mix a 1/2 cup of corn syrup with a 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch and then color to look like slime or blood.
Putting it all together:
Step 1: Mix a batch of cake mix, add 6 drops of red food coloring and 2 drops of blue until you reach a deep blood red. If you add too much blue and it looks purple, add some red and mix. Repeat as needed. Bake cupcakes per directions and allow to cool.
Step 2: Using one of the tools, hollow out each cupcake. Fill some with cookies, some with bones and some with eyeballs.
Step 3: Make green slime and red blood and fill holes of the eyeball cupcakes and the ones with bones. Repeat until goo is not longer soaking into cupcakes. Replace cap of hole.
Step 4: Color the buttercream and decorate as you choose.
I used the blue on the cookie filled one and added eyeballs to make it like cookie monster.
I used red on the blood and eyeball filled one to look like a regular cupcake, but when you bite into it, it will drip blood.
I used the green and one eyeball to make it look a little like Mike from Monsters, Inc. with bones and green goo in it.
