Ghostface, Scream Cake, Emoji Style

This is a great cake for younger kids and those who like the less scary stuff at Halloween!

Needed to make:

* 3 - 9 inch chocolate cake rounds, baked and cooled (recipe on site)

* 1/2 a dome chocolate cake, baked and cooled (recipe on site)

* 1 package black fondant

* 1 package of white fondant

* 2 batch's of chocolate butter cream (recipe on site)

* 1/2 a tablespoon of corn syrup

Tools: Fondant tools, tooth picks, BBQ skewer, cake stand that turns.

Step 1: Stack and ice the cakes with the dome on top. Be sure to trim each cake to be flat on top.

Step 2: Trim sides of cake to make a wide honeycomb shape. Apply crumb coat and cool in refrigerator for about 10 minutes.

Step 3: Apply rest of icing and get it as smooth as you can. Measure cake to see how big of a circle you need to cover it.

Step 4: Roll out fondant to a large circle, whatever size you need. Mine was 19 inches. Place on top of cake as evenly as you can.

Step 5: Smooth and fold fondant to look like a grim reaper cape.

Step 6: Roll out and cut a semi-circle for the hood, whatever size you need. Mine was 17 inches. Place on cake and secure with a bit of corn syrup.

Step 7: Attach bottom of hood with some more corn syrup. Then using toothpicks adjust top of hood over face in folds. Using a pointed tool you can add stitching along the edge of hood then smooth edges so it looks like a seam.

Step 8: Roll out white fondant and shape to look like the ghostface mask. I used a picture from online to get the shape correct. Measure cake to make sure mask will fit, mine was 4 inches, plus the longer mouth.

Step 9: Using more fondant, shape the eyes, nose and mouth to place the white "Mask" over as he has a bulge over and around each eye. Cut out eye, mouth and nose holes.

Step 10: Once "Mask" is ready, use corn syrup to attach it. Use a wedge shape of black fondant to make the mouth stick out from the face, also attaching with fondant.

Step 11: Trim cape edges and then pinch them lightly to give them a more jagged look.

Now cut and serve.
